ESSEC Entrepreneurs: General Interest, Well-being, Co-design, Space Planning and More

Discover the entrepreneurs who have recently made the news in our dedicated section on the ESSEC Alumni website. 

Baptiste Clair (E10) co-founded Demain to enable employees to work one day a week or more for general interest organisations, while holding on to their job. The platform facilitates the placement, formalisation and follow-up of each engagement.

Claire Dumas (M21) co-founded Canari, a well-being solution for the workplace. ‘We collect data from workplace sensors and photos, and provide configurable pictograms for actions such as opening the window, taking a break or setting temperature. Everything is linked to an application to monitor progress and avail of advice.’ The solution has already won over La Poste and Morning.

Quentin Bertrand (E08) launched Quaeso, a SaaS solution to help companies co-design products or services with their customers. The platform, which can be customised for each brand, centralises reviews and assessments, facilitates their interpretation and promotes contributors over time. ‘The result is qualified owner insights, reduced acquisition costs, opinion leaders and engaged, sustainable communities.’

Pascal Leroy (EXEC M05) took over the office furniture supplier SEREM, repositioned the company to provide space planning solutions for tertiary companies, restaurants and hotels, and tripled the firm’s turnover in just a few years.

Omar El Yacoubi (M10) co-founded Garden Box, the leader in high-end landscaping in Morocco. The company employs 85 people and has worked with more than 60 property complex developments (residential and tertiary), around 200 private villas and 5 major public parks. The next step for the company is to expand operations throughout the African continent.

Olivier Waucampt (E96) launched Airbuzz, Brazil’s leading platform for property, pool and garden rental by the day for film shoots or special events, such as weddings, birthdays, family gatherings, product launches, seminars and corporate entertainment. ‘We’re developing a new market of sole owner hosts looking to earn some money without having to vacate their home or manage the other complications associated with AirBnB.’

Sébastien Plan (EXEC M21) created Abstraction Paris, a responsible fragrance brand offering a range of perfumes prepared to order, in French-made bottles and packaging which is plastic-free and recycled where possible. Their products are packaged and printed by organisations that help disabled people back into work.

Etienne Picand (E21) and Simon Couasse (E21) co-founded Unsolved and organise treasure hunts on a national scale. Their first game, L’Elixir d’Or, can be found in specialist game shops, Cultura outlets and on Amazon. The prize on offer is a collection of fine wines valued at €100,000, in partnership with Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, Le Petit Futé, La Cité du Vin and more than 40 wine estates.
