Alumnae: Apply For EWA Boost’ Mentoring Before 30 June!
Are you a female ESSEC graduate who would like to spend a year learning from an executive mentor? You have until midnight on 30 June (midnight) to apply online (in French) for the EWA Boost’ programme!
EWA Boost’ is a selective mentoring programme by the ESSEC Women Alumni (EWA) Club. Christine Malpart (E87), president of EWA and the woman behind the project, tells us more: "At our level, we aim to contribute to the visibility and successful careers of women, by offering an open and inspirational framework to ESSEC graduates wishing to rise to managerial roles, launch a business project, or more generally untie the invisible knots which complicate their career."
What Is an EWA Boost’ Mentor?
A mentor is someone who draws on their experience and personality to guide your own career plans, without any management or financial relationship with you. A mentoring relationship is based on trust and mutual curiosity. The idea is to form a two-way relationship based on co-building, rather than a systematic solution. It is different from, but a great addition to, coaching, counselling, and/or therapy.
EWA Boost’ mentors are men and women working in the top flight of French and international business. They are all ESSEC graduates, work in management, and are passionate about gender equality.
The 2023 edition of EWA Boost' is sponsored by Natacha Raab (E95), Managing Director EMEA, US & Japan of Fred Paris and mentor for 8 years. In addition, 4 mentors are joining the adventure this year: Emmanuelle Champaud (E86), Director of Strategy and Customer Experience at Stations Bees in Aix-en-Provence; Clara Chappaz (E12), Director of La French Tech; Raphaëlle d’Ornano (E09), founder of consulting firm D'Ornano + Co; and Julia Néel Biz (E12), co-founder of mental health platform teale.
Support Tailored to You
The programme is based on 10 face-to-face or telephone/video meetings every year. The mentee organises and plans the meetings, which are then guided by the mentor.
In parallel, the EWA Boost team organises regular get-togethers for mentees and mentors separately, and everyone together, in a series of after-work drinks and business breakfasts, as well as dinners and brainstorming sessions to cultivate a culture of upward mobility and leverage the power of the network.
Who Is EWA Boost’ For?
The programme is aimed at female ESSEC graduates with at least five years’ professional experience who are members of ESSEC Alumni (join here) who would like to give their career development plans a boost, build their confidence and self-esteem, accelerate the launch of their own companies, prepare for a move abroad or a return home, discover the keys that unlock the next stage in the careers, or join senior management... and that’s just for starters.
How to Apply
You have until 30 June to apply on the EWA Boost’ website (in French). The process is easy: browse the list of mentors (in French) for 2024, then fill in the application form (in French) by describing your plans, your goals, and what motivates you, and list three choices of mentor. Mentees will be matched with the 28 mentors over the summer. All successful mentees will be informed by email, and their mentors will be revealed at the big launch event on 19 September in Paris!
