Directory: Networking? Definitely. Cold calling? No way!

Some of our graduates have informed us that they have been receiving sales calls from individuals highlighting their access to the ESSEC directory. Here’s a clarification. 

We found that apparently, one or more members of the ESSEC Alumni network have been using the directory for sales purposes or providing direct or indirect access to the directory to third parties or ESSEC graduates who aren’t a member. 

In light of this, we would like to remind you of our terms of use, which you can find on our website, and which you agreed to when you created your ESSEC Alumni account. They stipulate that: “Out of respect for the well-being of all, you must not: (…) use the Website for propaganda, sales, or political purposes”.   

We would also like to remind you that the directory is made available to ESSEC Alumni members to encourage discussion between graduates, exclusively for non-commercial purposes.

As such, granting access to the directory to third parties, especially for sales prospecting purposes, or canvassing sales using the directory, is a violation of our terms of use and data protection (GDPR) and sales canvassing laws that can lead to prosecution.
