Éloïse Gilles (E03) and Raphaëlle de Panafieu took over Duvelleroy, a maison that has been crafting hand fans in Paris since 1827.

With a dual degree in Litterature and Sales and a former job in brand valuation at the firm Brand Behavior and Assets, Éloïse Gilles was the perfect candidate to revive the fan as a fashion accessory.

Taking inspiration from the Duvelleroy archives, and capitalizing on the brand's know-how in restoring ancient fans, she and her partner changed the whole manufacturing process, developed several collections and modernized the Maison's image thanks to special initiatives such as a fan made in collaboration with Castelbajac that was used by Katy Perry and distributed by Colette.

In 2011, the Maison had 30 resellers, like Bergdorf Goodman, Harrod’s or Le Bon Marché, and reached €300,000 in sales. In 2014, it opened a boutique-showroom 17, rue Amélie in Paris and an e-shop.

Duvelleroy is currently developing its luxury B2B segment, working with Guerlain, the Mandarin Oriental and Van Cleef & Arpels, who offer its products to their best clients. Its next move will be to raise funds to open a flagship store in Paris and develop a network of stores abroad.
