ESSEC Appointments: Groupe Bel, L’Oréal, M6 and more
Mass market, real estate, industry, telecommunications, cosmetics, culture and media… Take a look at the recent appointments in the ESSEC network.
Cécile Béliot-Zind (E97) has been appointed CEO of Groupe Bel, thus becoming the first woman to run this company of 11,800 employees, operating in more than 120 countries and with iconic brands such as The Laughing Cow, Babybel, Apericube, Boursin, Pom’Potes or Mont-Blanc. With lengthy international experience, including 17 years with the Danone Group, in her previous position as Deputy Managing Director responsible for strategy, markets and growth, she contributed in particular to the development of new regional markets (USA and China) and distribution channels (e-commerce and out-of-home).
Étienne Dupuy (M95) has been appointed CEO of Foncière Ceetrus, the owner of 300 shopping centres in 10 European countries, representing 4 million square metres and €7bn in property assets and belonging to the Mulliez family (Auchan, Décathlon and Leroy Merlin). This property investment expert held previous positions in Archon Group and Axa before his successive appointments as CEO of BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Services, Managing Director of Real Estate, Asset Management and ESG at Invesco Ltd as well as CEO of Nhood.
Liza Bellulo (E00) has been appointed President of the Fédération Française des Télécoms [French Telecom Federation] in addition to her role as General Secretary at Bouygues Telecom. Previous roles of this ENA - Sciences Po Paris graduate, and Knight of the National Order of Merit, include civil administrator for the Ministry for Justice, legal advisor at the General Secretariat for European Affairs (SGAE) to the Prime Minister and Master of Requests within the French Council of State.
Nicolas Castanet (IMHI 00) has been appointed Managing Director for Finance, Legal and Central Functions at Grand M Group, the residential property developer, owner and operator with more than 1,200 employees and a budget of €1bn to roll out in the coming years. Following six years with Accor, he held various managerial positions, including Vice-President for Financial Planning and Analysis at Sofitel Asia-pacific, Vice President for Finance at ISS France, Chief Financial Officer at The Student Hotel in the Netherlands as well as Financial Director and then interim CEO of easyHotel.
Jean-Dominique Tortil (E90) has been appointed Vice President, Global Editorial of the L’Oréal Group. He has worked for the cosmetics giant since graduating from ESSEC. Following a stint in marketing, he became Head of Communication for the Vichy brand, followed by Director of Public Relations and Women’s Magazines, Director of Philanthropy for the launch of the L’Oréal Foundation, Director of Communication for Asia-Pacific and lastly Vice President of Communication for L’Oréal Consumer Products, a position he held for 10 years.
Sébastien Fresneau (E91) has been appointed International Director at Éditions Auzou, which specialises in books for children and teenagers. He has solid experience in culture; following 4 years in marketing for Bertelsmann Music Group, he became Managing Director for Sales, Export & Digital with Wagram Music. He then held several managerial positions at EMI – Warner Music Group in Europe and Asia, before becoming VP of Book & Pop Culture Events with Reed Exhibitions, where he managed the Paris Book Fair.
Florette Morel (M03) has been appointed Publicity and Corporate Manager of Groupe M6, where she has been working for 10 years. She began her career in communication and public relations with Céline and then Kenzo, prior to a period with Publicis Consultants.
