ESSEC Appointments: Medef, Edenred, SNCF, Maisons du Monde, Bpifrance, Musée Picasso, Choiseul and More

The head of MEDEF, leaders of major groups, a museum director and no less than 37 winners of the Choiseul 200 City of the Future! We take a look at some of the recent appointments in the ESSEC network.

 Patrick Martin (E83) has been elected head of the French employers’ organisation MEDEF for a 5-year term. He began his career with Crédit National (now Natixis) prior to joining the family-run intermediate firm Martin Belaysoud Expansion, where he rose to the position of CEO, transforming the company into a leader in industrial and building distribution, with a turnover in excess of €1bn in 2023. He is also a Knight of the Legion of Honour. He takes over from Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux (E84).

 Sébastien Proto (E00) has been appointed Chief Executive of Elsan, France’s leading private hospital network, with more than 140 establishments, 28,000 healthcare professionals and 7,500 private practitioners caring for more than 4 million patients annually. Also a graduate of ENA, he began his career as a tax inspector before heading various ministerial offices. He then moved into private banking, initially as Managing Partner with Rothschild & Cie, followed by Société Générale, where he held the successive positions of Group Strategy Director and Assistant Managing Director in charge of the Société Générale and Crédit du Nord networks, in addition to their Innovation, Technologies & IT department and of private banking in France and overseas. 

 Antoine Collette (E94) has been appointed CEO of Sodiaal, France’s leading and Europe’s third largest dairy cooperative, encompassing more than 16,000 producers and around 9,000 farms. With more than 25 years’ experience in strategic roles for the hygiene-beauty and food sectors, he has been Managing Director for the Danone Group, Kraft Foods and Mondelez in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Prior to this most recent appointment, he was Senior Vice President and Head of Europe and the Middle East for Henkel’s cosmetic division. 

 Marc Divay (E07) has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Edenred Pay USA. He began his career in marketing with Engie, and then joined Roland Berger as a strategic consultant and project manager. He moved to the Edenred group next, where he has been working for more than 10 years in various managerial roles in London and Paris. 

 Philippe Bru (E92 & M98) has been appointed Human Resources Director of Groupe SNCF. Also a graduate of Sciences Po Paris, he has spent his entire career with the railway operator, holding the positions of Facility Director, Sales Director and Operations Director and rising to the successive management of the Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie regional divisions, with several thousand employees under his wing. 

 Christophe Lapotre (EXEC PROG 18) has been appointed Executive Director of Operations with Maisons du Monde, and will be responsible for the sales growth and performance of the Group's 352 shops in 9 European countries. Following a stint with Kiabi as store manager, he joined Celio, initially as manager of the Spanish subsidiary and then as Retail Director Europe.

 Estelle Basto Loisance (EXEC M17) has been appointed Director of Media, Brand Content, Social Networks and Big Media Editorial at Bpifrance. She began her career as customer manager for Publistory, and then became manager of Carat’s BtoB department, followed by Consulting Director of Carat Sponso. She then joined Publicis as Director of Special Operations and Partnerships of the Starcom MediaVest Group, before rising to the role of Deputy Managing Director of Publicis Media Content, at the head of the OPS and Partnerships department. Altice Media Ads & Connect then hired her as Deputy Managing Director, and she subsequently took up the general management of Follow Agency.

 Sébastien Delot (M02) has been appointed Director of Collections and Mediation for the Musée National Picasso-Paris. Also a Doctor in Art History, he began his career at MAC/VAL as head of communication and patronage, before joining the Saint Etienne Métropole Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art. He then took over the management of the Métropole Européenne de Lille Museum of Modern, Contemporary and Outsider Art (LaM), where he notably curated the Alberto Giacometti and Paul Klee exhibitions. 

 Yann Le Touher (E07) has been appointed Director of External Relations with the foundation Art Explora. Also a graduate of the École du Louvre, he worked in communication and patronage for the Musée d’Orsay, Centre Pompidou and RMN-Grand Palais, prior to becoming Assistant Director of the Louvre brand and sales partnerships, where he initiated the licence with Swatch and organised the first Bid for the Louvre auction with Christie’s. 

 Christophe Deloire (E94), Secretary General at Reporters Without Borders, (RSF), has taken up co-chairmanship of the independent steering committee of the Forum for Information launched by the French Government. The aim: ‘To combat against all forms of interference and provide journalists with the optimal framework to fulfil their core mission.’  Nathalie Collin (E88), Deputy Managing Director of the La Poste group also sits on the committee. 

 Alice Ponsero (E10) has been appointed Deputy Managing Director of Stane, a company engaged in reforming community medicine, ensuring equal access to health care and improving working conditions for health professionals. She began her career with Boston Consulting Group, prior to joining Action Against Hunger, where she held the successive roles of Head of Partnerships, Treasurer and Administrative & Financial Director. At the same time, she became Director of Private Partnerships and then Regional Delegate with Adie, a charity which funds and assists entrepreneurs with no access to bank credit. 

37 alumni feature on the 2023 Choiseul City of the Future, which awards 200 leaders under 40 playing a major role in the emergence and co-building of the city of the future.
