Alumni occupying executive roles in major companies, committing to social entrepreneurship, or practicing  law... Here’s an eclectic selection of recent appointments from within the ESSEC network.

Véronique Bédague (E87) is appointed managing director of Nexity. “I’m ready to champion our beliefs and work alongside all our staff and partners to develop sustainable, accessible property that makes living together a pleasure. I’m assessing our challenges so that I can do the best for our customers every single day, with more than one million people using our services!” It marks a successful change of career direction for the former IMF economist who has also served in the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance, Investment, and Public Accounts, the general secretariat of Paris City Hall, and the cabinet department of Prime Minister Manuel Valls, before moving into the private sector and property development!

Alban de Mailly Nesle (E91) succeeds Gérald Harlin (E78) as director of finance at Axa, where he has spent a large part of his career, first as a mergers and acquisitions manager for Asia and the United States, and then as the director of finance for the Mediterranean-Latin America region, and most recently the group’s director of risk. He began his career at BNP Paribas.

Joël Gaudeul (BBA 03) has been appointed Chief Revenue Officer & Chief Marketing Officer at Hivency, the influence marketing solution co-founded by Sylvain Gasc (BBA 15), that helps companies identify the influencers and ambassadors that match their brand, manage their collaboration, and receive input from qualified customers. The former Ubisoft employee has a track record in management roles at digital start-ups, and his past roles include Chief Operating Officer at Adictiz, Chief Operating & Marketing Officer at Bolden, Chief Marketing Officer at Ulule, and Chief Marketing Officer at Mention. She is well-versed in the matter, having previously served as associate director at KiMSO, the social impact consultancy, and an associate expert in social impact assessment at ESSEC, after starting her career as an HR consultant.

Lionel Ripamonti (E09) was appointed to the role of counsel at Bredin Prat corporate law firm. Specialising in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, he also works on cross-border transactions (external growth, strategic alliances, restructuring, joint-ventures) on behalf of private and public companies from all over the world, as well as on transactions, governance, and strategic disputes for entrepreneurs, founders, and family shareholders. He also teaches at ESSEC, where his achievements include launching the Law and Corporate Finance programme.
