After several years with Hermès and Chanel, Camille Andreu (E14) created the menswear brand Monsieur Loup.
'Our name derives from Monsieur, which refers to a civilized man, and Loup, Wolf, by definition wild.' You find this double inspiration in each piece of the brand, which all combine elegance and natural materials. Chambray shirts, olive wood buttons, Japanese cotton sweaters... All come from the Toki Sen-i workshops using old looms from 1907, and human-sized factories located around Braga in Portugal.
Camille Andreu picked a good entourage. For her first collection, she chose Brazilian dancer Miguel de Sousa as a model, and partnered with Steve Pitocco, a French grafitti and plastic artist, who designed the logo and two limited-edition T-shirts. 'His technique? A thread of paint. The brush doesn't touch the picture. It's dipped in paint and flows on the canvas.' A balance between control and surrender: that's the spirit of Monsieur Loup.
