New Year’s Message From Olivier Cantet (E87), President of ESSEC Alumni
Hello everyone,
I’d like to wish you a very Happy New Year for 2021! I hope it is a year filled with the pleasure and satisfaction of sharing and working together, to make tomorrow’s world a better place.
The ESSEC and ESSEC Alumni community enter the new year feeling engaged, confident, and driven by the pioneer spirit.
Engaged to support our community in France and around the world:
- Through the commitment of our 600 volunteers in our Clubs, Chapters, and Year Groups, especially when it comes to entrepreneurship, which is one of our priorities
- Through levelled-up career services to help our graduates find the job that will make them happy
- Through professional services, tools, and shared best practices Incredible group projects are underway, with recent graduates making their mark. Join them, wherever you are.
Confident because we have tightened our bonds and made solidarity a concrete reality. You may be contacted by the Association or by ESSEC students and graduates. Please take the time to reply to them.
Pioneers because the Association has quickly adapted to offer an expanded and amplified range of professional services, like Lifelong Learning, which launched last October.
Our Managing Director, Stéphanie Jossermoz (E94), the Alumni Office, and our permanent staff are all motivated to deliver these new roles, and to deliver them well.
Check out the organisational chart and find contact details for all the team.
We are also approaching 2021 hand-in-hand with ESSEC.
Through the ESSEC Board, Supervisory Board, and a whole range of joint projects, we work in close everyday contact with Vincenzo Vinzi and the Group’s management.
We applaud the remarkable RISE strategic plan, built around “Together”, which bolsters the environmental and social transition, as well as the positioning to deliver “Meaningful Leadership for the Future”, with the new motto of “Enlighten, Lead, Change”.
Against the chaotic backdrop of 2020, the School has retained its excellence and agility. Testament to this is the upwards trajectory of ESSEC programmes in world and European rankings.
For the Association, the challenge is to make you, the users of our services, the focus of our organisation and Board of Directors, and to support the volunteer coordinators of our professional and social communities.
Another huge challenge is to invest heavily in the digitalisation of your “user experience”. We have made up some of the lost ground, but recent graduates are already expecting much more: they will push us to keep one step ahead.
Another major expectation is a Maison des ESSEC for us all to get together, as soon as possible. In the coming months we should be moving out, and be in a better space by the summer.
Our community boasts 60,000 leaders and talented members, from all ESSEC generations and in every sector and country around the world. It shares the responsibility for inspiring and helping deliver the changes that are needed as part of the environmental and social transition. It shares responsibility for inventing the future.
True to our humanist roots, we will do so by working together with a positive mindset, contagious energy, and a smile on our faces.
See you soon. Kind regards,
Olivier Cantet
