In the immediate aftermath of the first bombings, ESSEC Alumni's international department contacted alumni in Ukraine and launched a major solidarity campaign for Ukrainian refugees.

3 objectives for "Mission Ukraine" :

Enlighten and inform

Keep up the mobilisation

Act together

the community about the humanitarian crisis
to collect donations (UNHCR, Ochmadyt hospital)
to support victims in the short and medium term, setting up aid for alumni and their families

Keep up the mobilisation to collect donations with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

Joined by the HEC and ESCP alumni associations and thanks to your generosity, the mission raised over €200,000 in donations (with ESSEC doubling its contribution to €50,000). This enabled the rapid and safe evacuation of Ukrainian refugees, the majority of whom were women and children.

Support for "Ochmadyt", a children's hospital in Kiev :
Benefit concert on 12 June 2022: €2,901 collected
Jean-Marc Jacquot's Tour of Mont-Blanc by bike (MBA 20): €580 collected

66 bottles donated for a charity sale on October 2022 : €13,500 collected
ESSEC Alumni Health Club: medical equipment donation

Act together to support victims in the short and medium term

A dedicated steering committee was set up to strengthen the Association's commitment to refugees. Chaired by Olivier Cantet (E87) - President of ESSEC Alumni - its members included Giuseppe Graziano - President of the Ukraine Chapter -, Jean-François Le Page (E78) - Head of the Northern, Central and Eastern Europe and Russia zone -, Gaëlle Devoucoux (E09), Bogdan Bondar (BBA 21)... At the end of April 2022, Olga Semenenko (EXEC MBA 19), in charge of the Ukraine mission, joined the ESSEC Alumni team for a few months in order to implement all the actions related to our commitment.
