Sami Tueni (E05), founder of ihjoz, spins off Fawter, a digital invoicing and payment platform.

Launched in 2013, ihjoz (‘Book’ in Arabic) quickly became the leading ticketing platform and marketplace in Lebanon. Beyond management tools, access control and cashless payments for events, the start-up built its own distribution and payment infrastructure supporting a multitude of payment methods and hundreds of physical points of payments.

Following the economic and COVID crisis that affected Lebanon and the event industry, ihjoz is now launching Fawter (‘Invoice’ in Arabic), a spin-off allowing any merchant to invoice customers online and get paid. “We will support dozens of local payment methods as we expand throughout the Middle East to allow a seamless and quick digital transition for any merchant.

The new venture is looking for investors and partners to fuel its regional growth and tackle new verticals and customer segments.
