Online Conference: "Updates on geopolitical consequences of the war in Ukraine" with Cédomir NESTOROVIC

Following a first session held in June, ESSEC Alumni proposes to attend a conference given by Professor Cédomir Nestorovich on updates about the geopolitical consequences of the war in Ukraine:
September 22nd, from 1pm to 2pm (FR time)
"Beyond the inacceptable tragedies the war in Ukraine produces, we will start by analysing the immediate consequences of the war which are:
- Civilian casualties and refugee crisis of more than 8 million people going to other European countries
- Miliary and strategy crisis involving nuclear powers and possible confrontation between Russia and NATO
- Economic crisis with harder sanctions on Russia and retaliation in the form of Russian stop of supplies (oil and gas first, agricultural products second)
This war is also a war of images, discourses, and propaganda. The far-reaching consequences of the war reside in the change of war legitimation and conduct that could be reproduced in other places. This is why in the second part of the conference we will analyse the war from the classical and critical/feminist geopolitics point of view by asking the following questions:
- Why do we have a war?
- What do we know about that war?"
SPEAKER
Professor Cédomir NESTOROVIC holds a Ph.D from the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris. He teaches geopolitics and international marketing at the ESSEC Business school for more than 15 years.
