#ESSECConnect : During the COVID-19 Crisis, Answer the Call of the Community!

ESSEC Alumni News

06.18.2020

The COVID-19 crisis affects many alumni, especially our recent graduates taking their first steps into the labour market. Olivier Cantet (E87), President of ESSEC Alumni, is calling on the network to support its members during these challenging times.

It seems as though the worst days of the coronavirus crisis are behind us. Most companies are making a comeback, albeit sluggishly, and eventually things will return to normal. However, many companies will be forced to adjust their workforce to match immediate or future business realities.

Today at ESSEC Alumni, we are making individual crises our top priority.

And this is why I am contacting you. We can help every student and graduate get the job they will find the most fulfilling.

All it takes is a simple hashtag: #ESSECconnect

We have chosen this “password” to make it easier to get in touch with each other, and so that you know when an ESSEC student or graduate is reaching out to you. You will be contacted more frequently by email, LinkedIn, and on other social media. Do not let this opportunity to lend a hand pass you by. Take a few minutes of your time to reply, give some advice, and point them in the right direction.

Students – international students in particular – are facing the fallout of the uncertain business climate. Internships, apprenticeship contracts, and graduate jobs are becoming scarcer at a time of burgeoning demand. Even if you yourself aren’t recruiting, remember your network: you may well know someone that its! #ESSECconnect!

- Alumni Job Board: A new platform for job and internship opportunities exclusive to ESSEC has been added to the website. Almost 80 opportunities have been posted already, but we can do better. You can find the platform here (and to make sure that you can sign in, create your account here first)

- Alumni Talks: We have also organised online meetings to discuss issues facing particular sectors. You can volunteer to give a talk and share your experience about the sector you work in. Contact: alumni-oncampus@essec.edu.

- Webinars: We are also creating a lot more content to take action and leverage the network. ESSEC is a key worker, too.

Some students are also facing increased financial difficulties in covering their tuition fees. It is now more important than ever before that the excellence of ESSEC courses is accessible to all. Your donations to the ESSEC Foundation will help us to make this a reality. Make a donation, here

We have the pride and good fortune to be involved with one of the top five international universities/schools in this field, with ESSEC Executive Education. (More info here)

Mutual support is a key factor in enabling all of our students and graduates to bounce back, or to simply find the path that makes them feel happy, fulfilled, and useful. “Heed the call”: #ESSECconnect!
