In a newly created role, ADGE is recruiting an International Community Manager. The post is permanent and for an immediate start.

ADGE is one of the biggest alumni associations in France (52,000+ graduates). It is a team of 18 staff (12 employees and 6 freelancers), and more than 200 ESSEC volunteers.

ADGE’s role is to coordinate the ESSEC network in France and around the world, and offer services to both students and alumni.

The new financial model based on lifetime membership (awarded to students while they study at ESSEC) will accelerate the transformation and modernisation of the association.

The association’s priority is to place alumni (students and graduates in France and abroad) at the heart of its strategy, by making the network more effective (digital and physical) and enhancing the quality of its events and services, based on the values of the ESSEC community: Excellence, Humanism, and a Pioneering Spirit.

The international network is one of ADGE’s strategic priorities, which is one of the reasons why the association has created a permanent position as an International Community Manager. It is a permanent position in which the successful applicant will work closely with chapter presidents for each country, and area managers based in France.

Remember:

The international community just keeps growing: 34% of ESSEC students are international students. China, Morocco and India account for the largest groups of foreign students. ESSEC has two international campuses (Singapore and Rabat).

What’s more, 15% of alumni live abroad (in the UK, USA, Europe, and Asia, etc.).

- Showcasing international alumni with interesting careers

2) Creating/increasing the range of services accessible to all alumni, and raising alumni awareness

- Making existing services accessible to international alumni and developing new ones (e.g. careers services: webinars, coaching, mentoring, training, MOOC, in partnership with ESSEC)

- Improving the ESSEC brand’s reputation through partnerships, in partnership with ESSEC (local businesses, universities)

3) Coordinating community with Chapter Presidents

- Identifying, proposing, and implementing actions in partnership with volunteer area coordinators and Chapter Presidents. Recruit area managers as needed

- Motivating Chapter Presidents by focusing their role (information on the latest ESSEC news, introduction toolkit, best practices, etc.)

- Organising an annual event for Chapter Presidents abroad, thanking them for their work and sharing the year’s best practices

- Working with volunteer area coordinators to organise international events in Paris

4) Provide operational support to Chapter Presidents

- Logistics support: databases, event communications, etc.

- Financial support: events budgets

- Supporting creating content for events: suggesting speeches from alumni and ESSEC professors, building a relationship with French Trade Commission ambassadors, etc.

5) Support international students

- Liaising with the campuses (Cergy, La Défense, Singapore and Rabat) and ADGE Campus Managers (based in Cergy, La Défense and Singapore).

The International Community Manager will be supported by ADGE’s digital and events experts for assignments touching on these fields, as well as an international officer and freelance journalists for content creation.

This list of duties is non-exhaustive and may be subject to change.

Desired candidate

With a master’s from a university or business school, the successful applicant will have at least 8 years’ professional experience, especially in event management and/or communications. A significant career abroad is essential, and management experience is required.

Boasting a recognised entrepreneurial spirit, as well as solid project management skills, you are creative and know how to develop new services. Your naturally inclusive leadership will be a major asset for coordinating the international community

In France and abroad. Comfortable in a fast-paced and close-knit working environment, you have proven versatility, and are able to prioritise without losing your sense of service. You are adaptable, independent, and proactive.

The role requires excellent data analysis and summary skills, solid IT skills, (Office and databases), as well as competence with social media (experience of WeChat is a plus).
