ESSEC Appointments: Société Générale, Microsoft, Accor, Musée d’Orsay…
CAC40, multinationals, Asia, etc., some of the recent appointments within the ESSEC network.
Stanislas de Gramont (E86) has been appointed Managing Director of the Seb Group, which represents more than 30 household appliance brands in 150 countries and employs 33,000 people. He is the first person outside of the founders of the company, i.e., the Lescure family, to be appointed to this position. Over the course of his career, he worked for Orangina, Kronenbourg and Danone, where he headed the Dairy Products division, and held various executive management positions in Canada, Italy, France, Western Europe and Africa. He then became CEO of Suntory Beverage & Food Europe, overseeing Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America.
Sandrine Lilienfeld (E89) has been appointed Managing Director of Camaïeu. This is not her first experience at the helm of a fashion group; following management roles in Etam and Kookaï, she was appointed CEO of NafNaf and Gérard Darel, acting MD of Ekyog and CEO of Caroll International. She also sits on the strategic committee of Simone Pérèle.
Quynh Tram Nguyen (E99) has been appointed Managing Director of Microsoft Vietnam. She has moved to Microsoft from Google, where she steered operations in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, following a previous role as Deputy CEO and Managing Director of FOX Networks. She has also held various executive positions at Vietnamobile, VSTV (a joint Vietnam Television VTV /Canal Plus venture) the United Nations Development Programme, PayPal and Orange.
Cécile Bartenieff (E90) has been appointed CEO of Société Générale Asia Pacific. With more than 20 years’ experience in the Group, she has held various financial and operational management positions, in addition to her role on the executive board. Prior to joining Société Générale, she worked as a manager for Accenture and Bred Banque Populaire.
Sami Biasoni (E08) has been appointed to the positions of Managing Director and Director of the Office of the Deputy Director-General of Société Générale, to oversee the Group’s digital strategy, innovation, data and resources. A former senior trader, he has also been teaching Options Theory and Raw Material Trading at ESSEC since 2012. He is the co-founder of Neo, a 100% online video news network and challenger to Brut (click here to see our interview (in French)).
Xavier Aumonier (E95) has been appointed CEO of Gruau, Europe’s leading group in the design, production and distribution of niche vehicles and standard vehicles adapted to customised fleets. He began his career with Altuglas International in Germany, before moving to Arkema where he held various executive positions covering the EMEA area.
Guillaume Baglin (E96) has been appointed Managing Director of Vilmorin Jardin. He held various marketing and sales positions at Unilever for the Miko, Magnum, Carte d’Or and Axe brands, before moving to the Andros Group to oversee the Bonne Maman, Andros and Mamie Nova brands. He then joined the cooperative group Limagrain where he rose to the Executive Committee.
Batoul Hassoun (E07) has been appointed Co-chairperson of Club 21e siècle, a 21st century think-and-do tank, which brings together figures acting for “a French Republic rich in its diversity”. She will manage this role alongside her position as CEO of The Salmon Consulting, a member of the Havas Group. Her previous experience includes the development of the Parisian branch of the London-based brand strategy consultancy Figtree, prior to her marketing role in the launch of Ouibus and more recently the executive management of Ogilvy Consulting. She has also published Un caillou dans la chaussure (Editions de l’Observatoire).
Olivier Horps (E93) has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of the Verisure group, which operates in 16 countries in Europe and Latin America. He began his career with L’Oréal, and held various marketing positions at Procter & Gamble, before moving to Club Med, where he oversaw the management of the South-East Asia and China divisions.
Pierre Barrard (E91) has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer at Motul, an iconic player in the auto industry. His career in marketing has taken him to several major groups, firstly at Nestlé, where he rose to the position of Marketing Director Foodservices in France, followed by Michelin, where he was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Digital Passenger Car and Light Truck Business Worldwide, and lastly Tarkett, where he sat on the executive board as Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Digital and Innovation.
Judith Feldman (E15) has been appointed Global Head of Retail at Accor, following a previous position in the group as Director of the Office of the Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to joining Accor, she worked for 5 years for the strategic consultancy Oliver Wyman.
Florence Midy (M96) has been appointed Deputy Manager of the Visitors Department at the Musée d'Orsay. Following a management control position at EMI Music, she held various marketing roles at LCL, Amazon France and American Express, before becoming Director of Development for the Casino group and Customer Loyalty Marketing Manager at AccorHotels. She moved to the culture sector in 2015, when she joined the development department of the French National Natural History Museum (Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle). She is also President of the ESSEC Alumni Culture & Management Club.
Guillaume Bieganski (M06) has been appointed Managing Director France of Barings, a direct property investment fund. He began his career at BNP Paris, before holding various positions at DTZ Asset Management, Standard Life Investments and Abenex Capital.
Laurent Decory (EXEC PROG 99) has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at Aurealis Therapeutics, a Swiss-Scandinavian biotechnology company. He has sat on the executive committee for 2 years and has broad experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with managing positions at Sanofi-Aventis, Takeda and Nycomed, before becoming Senior Vice-President of Global Commercial Excellence at BSN Medical in Hamburg, then Head of Global Commercial Excellence at Essity Health & Medical, and more recently Managing Director at BlueJet Consulting.
Alexandre Salem (E11) has been appointed Senior Vice President of Operations & Platforms for the Stillfront Group, a digital games creator, publisher and distributor. He has wide experience with key players in this sector, in particular as Global Director of Gaming Partnerships at Huawei, Gaming Lead EMEA Partnerships Solutions at Google and Global Advertising Monetization Director at King.
Nicolas Poncet (E06) has been made a partner at KPMG, where he has been working for more than 15 years. He has built up his expertise in auditing for renowned French and international groups, growth companies in the technology, media and telecommunications sector, and digital and payment service businesses.
