ESSEC International Affairs Focus on the US
ESSEC International Affairs, in partnership with Melt ESSEC and ESSEC Alumni, hosted the fifth in a series of business and opportunities events - Focus USA.
Taking place in the K-Lab, this fifth “Focus Country” event based its theme on a survey conveyed among ESSEC students, designating the United States as their first choice.
Experts and ESSEC alumni, with various career paths involving the US, were convened to provide the students and staff with insights into the US’s working culture, practical issues (visa and working permit) and business opportunities, with a special focus on entrepreneurship, luxury and international organization sectors.
Séverine Jauffret provided an overview of the topic and introduced the speakers, most of whom intervened through video conference: Martin Bischoff, Managing Director at the French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC); Philippe Berdugo (E10), Co-Founder and CEO of Wellbots and Co-Head of ESSEC Alumni’s USA Chapter; Sarah Sebbar (E15), Disaster Risk Management Consultant at the World Bank; and Savanna Jo Luraschi (E99), Vice President of Executive Development and Learning at LVMH. The last speaker Gilles Oubuih (E07), Strategic projects Director at Tarkett, managed to be on the campus to talk about his experience as an MBA student at Harvard. It was also the opportunity for Felix Papier, Dean of Pre-Experience Programs at ESSEC Business School, to talk about the opportunities in the US offered by ESSEC group.
