International Day for Tolerance: Olivier Cantet's (E87) Message

On the occasion of the International Day for Tolerance on Saturday, November 16, our president Olivier Cantet (E87) reminds us of the values that inspire our ESSEC community.

Dialogue, Listening, and Kindness
Our values of humanism and our pioneering spirit are rooted in attentive and protective kindness toward everyone. These values are timeless and remain at the heart of our ESSEC community.

Our events provide privileged spaces for exchange, respect, and serenity—essential for fostering dialogue and attentive listening among all our members, alumni, and students, regardless of their opinions, beliefs, or personal convictions.

The richness of our interactions requires us to safeguard these rules of harmonious coexistence.

Respect for Others and Diversity
We categorically reject any form of violence, whether physical, verbal, or symbolic.

This means never imposing one's opinion on others but remaining open to debate with respect and kindness.

Expressions or references (symbols, terminology, etc.) that are racist, homophobic, sexist, or constitute hate speech of any kind are unacceptable.

Let’s Reaffirm Our Values Together
We have a collective responsibility to work for the common good, for everyone and by everyone. This begins with shared moments during events organized by ESSEC Alumni clubs and chapters.

Let us all be mindful of situations that may cause others to feel aggression or discomfort. Let us actively work to anticipate and prevent them.

Our diversity is a true strength that must be able to flourish at all times.
