Passing of Pierre Nanterme (E81)

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing away of Pierre Nanterme (E81). He was both a visionary and profoundly caring business leader. Through the combination of these qualities, he was the embodiment of everything that we believe in at ESSEC.

Pierre was a source of inspiration for our whole community. Through his involvement in the life of our School, the students of the Accenture Chair or as a member of the Global MBA Advisory Board among others, he wished to contribute to give meaning to the leadership of tomorrow. He was a man ahead of his time, and in this sense he personified this purposeful leader that the coming generations demand and that we are aiming to train at ESSEC.

During his long career at Accenture, he spearheaded the development of the group by championing this pioneering spirit of which our School has made its motto, and leveraging digital transformation for the group’s growth. During the eight years that he spent at the head of Accenture, he always strived to “do things differently to make the difference” to use the formula so dear to him.

With the passing of Pierre Nanterme, ESSEC has lost one of its most renowned alumni, and France one of its most celebrated corporate leaders who was a flag bearer of the country’s values throughout the world. Our thoughts obviously go out to his family and close ones. A homage will be paid to him on the ESSEC Campuses.
