AAIMHI Annual General Assembly 2024 - Recap
26/06/2024
The recent Annual General Assembly of AAIMHI, held on June 25, 2024, offered a comprehensive overview of our associations activities, achievements, and financial standing over the past year. AAIMHI President Monika Moser (IMHI 2010) opened the meeting with an address, emphasizing the importance of the alumni community's continued engagement and the transformative new IMHI leadership focused on innovation and sustainability within our program.
The meeting featured a detailed presentation of the 2023 activities, highlighting various events and initiatives from our association and the IMHI program, to bring us together. We welcomed the new IMHI Management with Manuel Heurteux (IMHI 2015) , IMHI Executive Program Director, Michail Toanoglou, IMHI Academic Director and Johanna Wagner (IMHI 2013), Corporate relations, and are thrilled about the positive achievements since their start in September 2023.
Noteworthy are the numerous student competitions where IMHI students excelled this past year, winning multiple prestigious awards such as the ULI Europe Hines 2024 and the Accor Challenge. The event also showcased the involvement of alumni and students in organising significant gatherings like the IMHI Job Fair in cooperation with ESSEC Career Center, who is headed now by yet another IMHI, Anne Stalmach (IMHI 2015).
We have reached out to our IMHI alumni to become IMHI Ambassadors around the world (Indonesia, Singapore, India, UK, Switzerland, Spain, Lebanon, Dubai, NYC) and in addition seven IMHI are heading the ESSEC Alumni Chapters internationally! To add to our strong and international network, India was the focus of the latest edition of the ESSEC Alumni Magazine, with Puneet Chhatwal (IMHI 1991) on the cover story!
In the financial report, Treasurer Céline Cotasson (IMHI 2003) provided a thorough breakdown of the year's expenditures and revenues. The total charges were primarily driven by the costs associated with the 40th-anniversary celebrations, including the gala event, conference, and campus visit. Despite a deficit for 2023, the balance sheet showed the financial stability of AAIMHI.
Looking ahead, the goals for 2024 were outlined, focusing on enhancing support for and from students and alumni, strengthening international partnerships, and increasing membership engagement. Specific plans include continue promoting Divers’IMHI to attract a diverse student body, enhancing mentorship programs, and fostering new collaborations with international institutions.
The meeting concluded with the approval of the 2024 budget and the reaffirmation of current board members, alongside the introduction of new board member Anne Catherine Nielsen (IMHI 1996), who will support our expansion in the USA. This strategic addition aims to bolster IMHI's presence and influence in the American hospitality sector.
Overall, the general meeting highlighted AAIMHI's commitment to fostering a dynamic and supportive alumni network, driving forward its mission with renewed vigor and strategic foresight in close relationship with the IMHI program, the ESSEC Business School and ESSEC Alumni teams .
We still have a lot to do and we are always happy to connect with our active community. Please reach out if you can help in any of the activities and missions outlined in the presentation.
