ESSEC Alumni Services: "We Are Developing On-Demand Services to Meet Your Needs"

Stéphanie Prévost manages the ESSEC graduate community in France. Her role? To help ESSEC graduates with shared interests build dedicated networks, and provide the volunteers that coordinate them with the tools they need to do more, organise events, and boost their impact. She is also responsible for identifying ESSEC graduates’ new needs, and launching services to meet them.

What is your background?

I worked in a variety of roles at the Sorbonne and the Pierre and Marie Curie University managing international projects (research partnerships, student recruitment and mobility, public relations and communications, etc.), and I also worked at the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce as a public relations and international recruitment manager for various Grandes Écoles. All of my jobs have been a mix of marketing and communications on one side, and human resources and support, on the other.

What services do you provide today?

I’m responsible for coordinating ESSEC graduate communities in France: professional clubs, regional clubs, hobby clubs, programme groups, year group representatives,  and company contacts. To deliver this role, I recruit, train and support the volunteers who coordinate these different networks, providing them with logistical, financial, and personal support on a daily basis. I also support the launch of new clubs, helping them to form their community, organise their first events, communicate, and seek out potential partners.

What new services are on the way?

For graduates, I’m working on rolling out the Lifelong Learning programme, the partnership with Xerfi, and support for entrepreneurs. With regard to our volunteers, I focus on developing practical tools: training in online and hybrid events, sharing community coordination best practices (bringing a community together, getting the most out of our directory, communicating via social networks, posting on the website’s discussion groups, organising events, etc.), and I’m also working on the development and relaunch of a number of clubs. Watch this space!

ESSEC Alumni Services in France means...

- 600 volunteers

- 60 clubs

- 220 events: conferences, year group reunions, after work drinks…
