There’s no such thing as a holiday for entrepreneurs! This summer, ESSEC startups once again enjoyed great fundraising success in fields as varied as they are promising. Let’s take a closer look.
Founded by Jean-Charles Varlet (student), Crème de la Crème — a community of hand-picked freelancers — has just raised €3m from Alto Invest, the founders of the mutual health insurer Santiane, Aufeminin, Webedia, Bernard Julhiet and Loïc Le Meur. Created three years ago, the startup will use this funding to move into the English-speaking market and develop an app.
Co-founded by Nicolas Heitz (M13), Exotrail — a startup designing electric propulsion systems and operating software for satellites —raised €3.5m to finalise production of its first products and increase staff numbers.
Founded by Florian Blanc (E09), GEEV — a startup from Bordeaux that is developing an app enabling individuals to donate items to others — raised €3m from Daphni, the Marie Ekeland fund, Omnes Capital and BNP Paribas Développement. Several business angels, including Emmanuel Guyot, co-founder of Digitick, also joined the backers. This funding will allow the company to recruit staff and improve its app.
Co-founded by Yoann Huang (participant), Hubworkair — an online aeronautics sector recruitment platform that describes itself as “the leading head-hunting platform with a matching and scoring algorithm in the aviation sector” — has just raised €650k from its historic partner, BPI France, as well as a number of business angels. The funding will help the startup recruit more staff, with the aim of supporting its expansion in Europe. Yoann Huang shares more information about his project — and his links with ESSEC — in this interview on BFM TV.
Co-founded by Josef Bovet (student), Tiller Systems — a startup offering touchscreen-based iPad cash register software for retailers —has just completed a €12m fundraising round from several investors, including 360 Capital Partners, Omnes Capital, Ring Capital and Cambon Partners.
